Digital Identification now being promoted

Mr Tony Blair, former prime minister of England, made some interesting comments at a virtual CogX technology conference recently. Below are some quotes taken from his speech:

‘You can create a digital ID today that is much more easily protected so you can deal with a lot of the privacy and surveillance issues that worry people.’

‘It is a natural evolution of the way that we are going to use technology in any event to transact daily life and this Covid crisis gives an additional reason for doing that.

‘There has always been a good case for introducing some form of digital ID but I think that case is even more powerful today.’

These comments–his entire speech actually–point to an era that Bible reading Christians are very familiar with, and that is when global control over everyone will exist. All your buying and selling, as well as who you worship–everything will be under surveillance by the authorities.

He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:15-17

We are not there yet, but, “Mr Blair said a digital ID was a ‘natural evolution’ to navigate daily life.” That evolution is in progress, and continues to develop. It is not so much the digital ID, or the power that it will provide the authorities with, that is so important to us, but the fact that it brings us closer to that day. This development clearly indicates where we find ourselves on God’s calendar.

The Bible tells us what will happen, and the news tells us when it happens, and it is happening. Time is running out very fast. Your relationship with the Lord, and your salvation status, is more important than anything else in your life. Your eternal future is at stake, and for that reason I encourage you to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12)

For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
