As pressure is mounting on cultures around the world, we notice that large groups of people have trouble with formulating logic thoughts. They arrive at conclusions that make no sense, even to the point of supporting ideas that are dangerous to themselves. This phenomenon affects all levels of society, and is a sign of the times that we live in.
The portions of the Bible that describe the atmosphere of the last days clearly describe what to expect at the end of this era. Once trusted news agencies find it quite in order to broadcast news that does not include all the facts, is censored to support a particular narrative, is twisted, and often simply untrue. This can only be sustained because there are enough consumers that believe these stories, and because of financial backing by institutions that stand to benefit from it in some way.
Worst of all is the decisions that are made by governments and other leaders in society, based on fake news and twisted facts. But fake news is not the only lie that does well in our world – indoctrination in our schools, colleges and businesses, all work together to prepare the minds of people everywhere to accept the prescribed ideology, and make it popular. The lack of true knowledge, both of historical and current events, create a mindset that is unable to reason logically and discern accurately, yet is willing to digest whatever is widely believed – without questions asked.
This irrationality has a starting point, as seen in the quote below:
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man–and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Romans 1:20-23
When you don’t acknowledge God for who He is, you have a perception that you are not accountable to Him as your Creator, and for everything else in nature. That puts you in charge, and gives you the authority to make laws that suit your own morals based on your personal wishes. But Paul rightly says that such people entertain futile thoughts while believing that they are wise.
God’s fingerprints are clearly seen in His handiwork. It is past foolish to look at nature and believe that all the finely tuned ecosystems happen by themselves. There can be no doubt that the patterns in nature, mathematically perfect and synchronized throughout creation, is the work of the Great Architect who designed it in His wisdom.

Creation makes sense, while ignoring it is to believe illogical arguments in an attempt to reason God out of the way. That cannot be. And no matter how well you convince yourself of it, a day of accountability and judgment is coming for everyone. Standing before the judgment seat of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, it will be found that feeble arguments of human wisdom will not stand. As it is with earthly courts, ignorance is no defense, especially when nature itself brings witness against you.
Back to the epidemic of irrationality. God is patient and gracious. He also gave man a free will to make his own decisions. He doesn’t force anyone to obey Him; He uses no violence, but, instead, draws us to His heart with love and goodness. His followers willingly give up their carnal demands in exchange for a relationship with Him, and love that truly satisfies.
This freedom to choose brings with it a huge responsibility that must be exercised with great wisdom, as it can quickly lead to bondage, as the verses below indicate:
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. Romans 1:28-32
God gave them over to a debased mind! This is the mindset that is not based on God’s truth that leads to freedom and blessing, but on lies that produce all the wicked things that we see in our world today. And this is nothing new, even in Old Testament it was spoken about:
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20
Thoughts of a debased mind are anchored to the ever-shifting sands of public opinion, and follows the dictates of a fallen nature. Opposed to that is the mind based on the truth that God is the Creator and owner of all things, and that we are simply stewards over it. Central to this mindset is accountability to God, and respect for Him as Creator. His laws, instructions, ways and wishes are detailed in His Word that remains unchanged through the ages: He knows the end from the beginning and revealed His will once and for all.
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Psalm 19:89
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations. Psalm 33:11
But the Lord shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment. Psalm 9:7
Notice how the departure from obedience to God’s Word coincides with the destruction of our world. The more godless the world becomes, the more dangerous it becomes. But we do not lose heart because we have been warned about a time like this; God, in His great love for us, had it all written down ages ago to give us hope while darkness falls upon the world.
A new world order is in the making, with a central government and a unified religion. We have always known it. But we are not of this world; our future is secure under the rule of the Prince of Peace. The kingdoms of the world will become His kingdom.
The spirit of the antichrist is at work, but so is the Spirit of God, urging the called-out ones to prepare themselves for His appearance. Let us not be discouraged by what we see around us, but look up instead, for our redemption is at hand.
