The New Creation Being (2)

A new creation necessitates its own Adam to be authentic. The Creator does not work with corrupt materials, He makes all things fresh and new. No wonder then that His new creation started with a new Adam through whom He would raise a new race of people with no connection to the sinful nature of first Adam.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Humanity has been under the power of Satan from the time that Adam yielded to the serpent, with no way of escape. It seemed like a lost cause, and a victory for the devil. Driven by his own evil ambitions to supplant God, he made some bold statements:

For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Isaiah 14:13,14

While all appeared lost, God had no intention of abandoning mankind. The last word was not spoken! A plan was in the making. God declared war against the serpent in Genesis 3:

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” Genesis 3:15

Another Adam was placed on the earth at the right time, One who would not repeat the mistake of first Adam: Jesus was born, the last Adam, also called the Second Man:

And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:45

The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:47

Before He even started His ministry the devil came to tempt Him, as he did first Adam, hoping to gain the upper hand over Him:

Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Matthew 4:10,11

Last Adam did what first Adam failed to do. Paul writes in this way about the two Adams:

And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. 1 Corinthians 15:45-49

Two Adams and two races of people: First Adam who gave birth to a posterity of fallen people. He was “born again,” so to speak, from life to death. Last Adam gives birth to a new race of people who, like Him, were dead but rose again in newness of life:

Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.Romans 6:3-1

There are only two races of people on the earth: the offspring of first Adam, and the offspring of last Adam. Jesus is the last Adam (there won’t be another) and, as Paul revealed, if we died to our old sinful nature that we inherited from first Adam, we rise into a new life in Christ. Jesus is the last Adam and the second Man. We are of the same kind as the One from whom we were born:

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him… Colossians 3:10

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 3:12,13

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. 1 John 5:1

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:1,2

A new creation was born when Jesus rose from the dead — a race of people who died to their old sinful nature, but were raised in newness of life!

Memorize & Meditate: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ~John 3:12,13
